Gauteng wheelchair tennis development players will converge at Arthur Ashe Tennis Centre in Soweto this Saturday for a one-day-tournament.

The event, sponsored by Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, is aimed at offering players at the development level an opportunity to be competitive within the Province and improving the level of play and knowledge of the most promising and upcoming tennis stars.

This is the first time Wheelchair Tennis South Africa (WTSA) stage a provincial tournament.

Some of the notable athletes includes Adelaide Tambo Special School’s Siyabonga Ndumo and Emihle Mbotho who were crowned Johan Cruyff Africa Junior Camp boys’ and girls’ champions respectively earlier this month in Soweto.

Play will start at 09h00 and entrance is free.
