WHEELCHAIR TENNIS SOUTH AFRICA CELEBRATES WORLD TENNIS DAY IN MANGAUNG
World Tennis Day is a celebration of tennis around the globe and for Wheelchair Tennis South Africa is also a celebration of how tennis gives back to communities through exciting tennis activities. In an effort to grow and promote tennis around the world, a regional development camp will be staged this weekend in Bloemfontein.
Over 30 players in Mangaung will take to the court in celebration of the annual International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Day from 5-6 March in an effort to promote wheelchair tennis and increase participation among young players around the globe.
This month will also see major international wheelchair tennis tournaments, an ITF level 1 event to be staged at the Gauteng East Tennis Complex, in Benoni from 30 March – 3 April, ahead of the Airports Company South Africa SA Open, a Super Series event and one of the only six staged globally which will take place at Ellis Park Tennis Stadium from 5-9 April.
While celebrating World Tennis Day, Wheelchair Tennis South Africa wishes South African Davis Cup team the very best as they take on Luxembourg in a Euro/Africa Zone Group 2 Davis Cup tie from Friday, 4-6 March 2016 at Irene Country Club in Pretoria.
